Sebastian Abadie, MD

 
Dr. Sebastian Abadie is a Diplomat of the American Board of Internal Medicine and the American Board of Gastroenterology.  He completed his residency and a research fellowship in Gastroenterology at Pitt County Memorial Hospital in Greenville, North Carolina.  Dr. Abadie completed his Fellowship in Gastroenterology at Metro Health Medical Center (Case Western University) in Cleveland, Ohio.
 
His professional interests are diverse. He enjoys all aspects of gastroenterology including the diagnosis and management of celiac disease, gastrointestinal bleeding, capsule endoscopy, diagnosis and management of upper GI tract and colon diseases with a special focus on inflammatory bowel disease and colorectal cancer screening.
 
He has published in the field of gastroenterology in different peer reviewed journals such as, “Clinical Gastroenterology and Hepatology.” He has also given several poster presentations at the Digestive Disease Week and American Congress of Gastroenterology. 
 
Dr. Abadie is fluent in English, Spanish and Portuguese. North Carolina became his home after he married his wife, Lauren (a NC native). Lauren is a Speech-Language Pathologist with a special interest in children with autism. He and his wife have two boys, Liam and Walter. Dr. Abadie is an enthusiastic soccer fan. He enjoys playing, coaching and watching soccer, traveling, fitness, and spending time with family and friends.
